First Day at Market District Giant Eagle!

Today November 03, 2013 was my first day of training at Market District in the Bakery. I was so excited that I barely got any sleep at night haha. My position is bakery clerk and I already love it! It is pretty busy from morning to about 2 pm and after that it gets a bit slow. Tomorrow (the fourth) I'll be working from late afternoon to night shift. I'm still very excited to be working in the bakery because it is way more fun than being a cashier. I've been a cashier at 3 different hair stores and let me tell you, it is not fun. I had to deal with rude customers and they just create trouble.

I received my name tag, 2 aprons, and slip resistant shoe covers. I really love working so far, but the only down side is that they only give you 15 minute breaks. It is mandatory to get 2 breaks during an 8 hour shift. Honestly, 15 minutes is not enough time to walk all the way to the front of the store, upstairs to the break room, and eat your food. So my idea is to pack a sandwich, keep it in my locker, power walk to the break room and eat quickly. I guess I can save half for my second break. But to put everything into my locker I think I would have to arrive to work at least 20 minutes early. I think I should buy a yogurt parfait or some kind of food and store it in my locker before I start my shift. Market District is big so walking from the front to the bakery can take a bit especially with these short legs of mine. haha.
